Autobond Laminators

We’re big fans of Autobond’s laminators, produced just over the county boarder from us, in Derbyshire. Our Mini 74 sits in our Business Card Cell, our Mini 76 is part of our litho stream, and our Micro 52 takes care of small format items in our digital department.

These thermal laminators use a heated chrome roller, to create a strong seal, combined with a rubber counter-pressure roller to smooth the laminate out. Our Autobonds also come with perfectors so that we can laminate both sides in one pass.

Positioned in our large format area, the Seal 62 looks after our bigger items that need an extra finish. Large silk posters can have regular laminations applied, such as gloss or matt. The Seal 62 can also apply a coating to any exhibition stands you order, making them more scratch resistant and durable.

Now this machine isn’t technically a laminator but it does coat stocks. In our business card cell, all cards receive a coating of some kind. Many go on to be laminated (on our Autobond Mini 74) which gives the card the durability they need. Some, however, choose to go unlaminated.

Without a coating, cards become easily scuffed. Especially because, in their nature, business cards spend a lot of time being handled and passed from one person to another. To make your cards more durable, even uncoated cards do actually receive a light protective coating from the Excel Coat ZR30.
